If I only have a little bit of wisdom, I walk within the great Dào and all I fear is to go the wrong way.
The great Dào is totally straightforward; people, however, like byways: where courts are magnificent, where fields are full of weeds and where pantries are completely empty.
If your clothes are glamorous, you carry sharp swords; if you are supersaturated with food and drink, you have treasures and possessions in abundance - this is called bragging by robbers;. and this is certainly not the Dào, truly!
sinngemäß 53 Wege und Abwege
Wenn ich nur ein klein wenig Weisheit besitze, wandele ich im großen Dào und befürchtete nur die Abwege.
Das große Dào ist völlig geradlinig, doch die Leute lieben Abwege: die Höfe äußerst prachtvoll, die Felder voller Unkraut, die Vorratskammern ganz leer.
Sind die Kleider überprächtig, trägt man scharfe Schwerter; ist man übersättigt mit Speis und Trank, gibt es Schätze und Besitz im Überfluss - das nennt man Prahlerei von Räubern, das ist wahrlich keineswegs der Dào!

12. 財, 貨 richnesses, property, wealth… / Reichtümer, Besitz, Vermögen…
13.+14. 盜夸非道 word play: dào = robber + Dào (!) / Wortspiel: dào = Räuber + Dào (!);
夸 pride, boasting (show off); or: temptation, encouragement / Stolz, Angeberei; oder: Versuchung, Ermutigung.
14. 也+哉 lit.: “indeed” + “!” / „in der Tat“ + „!“;
哉: truly / wahrlich.
