True words are not beautiful, beautiful words are not true.
Proficient men do not argue, arguing people are incompetent; aware men are not learned, learned people are not aware.
Wise men do not hoard: the more they do for others, the more they possess themselves; the more they give to others, the more inner richness they reach themselves.
It is the Dào of Heaven to use and not to harm, and it is the Dào of wise men: to create and not to compete.

Fähige streiten nicht, Streitende sind unfähig. Wissende sind nicht gelehrt, Gelehrsame nicht bewusst.
Weise Menschen häufen nichts an; je mehr sie für andere Menschen tun, desto mehr besitzen sie selbst, je mehr sie anderen Menschen geben, erhalten sie selbst umso mehr inneren Reichtum.
Das Dào des Himmels ist es, zu nutzen und nicht zu schaden, das Dào der Weisen: wirken ohne Wettstreit.
